Bottled water could soon have stricter labeling rules

Consumers who pay top dollar for bottled water, know less about that water than what they can drink almost for free from the tap. They do not realize that municipal water districts responsible for tap water have many more regulations that apply than the companies that produce bottled water.

 

Bottled water is considered a food product which means bottled water is regulated by the Food and Drug Administration and required to show nutrition information and ingredients on its labels. Municipal water is under the control of the Environmental Protection Agency.  The two agencies have similar standards for water quality, but the FDA has less authority to enforce them and the environmental agency requires much more testing.

 

Many researchers urge Americans to make bottled water “a distant second choice” to filtered tap water because there is not enough information about bottled water. The working group recommends purifying tap water with a commercial filter.

Pop star Michael Jackson died of sudden cardiac arrest, according to press reports. This shocking news of Michael’s death is a shock to people all around the globe. Michael’s long awaited comeback is nothing but what could have been.

 

Michael Jackson was twice inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, 13 of his songs hit No. 1 and he won 13 Grammy Awards.

Jackson made his debut with the Jackson 5 at the age 11 and in the early 1980’s Michael Jackson became a dominant figure in pop music. Michael also raised millions of dollars for his foundation Heal the World Foundation and supported as many as 39 other charities.  

I wouldn’t say Michael is my favorite artist…he did become a little strange…but many of his songs I love to “rock out” to. He was a good entertainer but the music is what I appreciated.

 

Heart attacks are one of the leading causes of death amoung Americans. There are many heart and blood diseases, heart attacks is the most common. It’s said that everyone will have minor heart attacks through their life and not know that it ever happened.

Father’s Day Weekend ~ With a healthy, lip smacking events

What does it take for people to slow down these days? It seems that we all race around day-in-day-out getting kids to school, jamming to work, deleting emails, meeting dead lines, traffic, finally making it to bed around 11PM and doing all over again.

 

That lifestyle everyday is a one way road to an overstressed body and deterring health. So for the sake of having as much fun as possible on Father’s Day and every other day, we need to learn how to balance our lives. By balancing our lifestyle we’ll enjoy vibrant health, time with our children, and living life like it should, having fun.

 

I’ve learned a lot about health over the last two years and will share what I’ve learned about alkaline ionized water as well as alkaline diets at this weekend’s water clinic with Drs. Presnick Saturday 10am.

RECOGNIZING A STROKE

STROKE  IDENTIFICATION

 

A neurologist says that if he can get to a  stroke victim within 3 hours he can totally reverse the effects of a stroke…totally. He said the trick was getting a stroke recognized, diagnosed, and then getting the patient medically cared for  within 3 hours, which is tough.

 

RECOGNIZING A STROKE – Read and Learn!

 

Sometimes symptoms of a stroke are difficult to identify. Unfortunately, the lack of awareness spells disaster. The stroke victim may suffer severe brain damage when people nearby fail to recognize the symptoms of a stroke.

Now doctors say a bystander can recognize a stroke by asking three simple questions:

 

S  Ask the individual to SMILE. 

T  Ask the person to TALK and SPEAK A SIMPLE SENTENCE  (Coherently)

(i.e. It is sunny out today.) 

R  *Ask him or her to RAISE BOTH ARMS.

 

If he or she has trouble with ANY ONE of these tasks, call emergency number  immediately and describe the symptoms to the  dispatcher.

 

New  Sign of a Stroke ——– Stick out Your Tongue

 

NOTE:  Another ’sign’ of a stroke is this: Ask the person to ’stick’ out his  tongue.. If the tongue is ‘crooked’, if it goes to one side or the  other, that  is also an indication of a stroke.

 

A cardiologist says if everyone forwards this to 10 people; you can bet that at least one life will be saved.  I have done my part….will you?

Don’t grow old before your time

According to a 1998 government study, 43% of those who make it to age 65 are destined to enter a nursing home at some time during their life. So basically you have a 50-50 chance to spend your later years warehoused somewhere.

 

Unfortunately with the explosion of chronic life threatening  diseases, you may not get the chance. Cancer can strike any organ in your body…Heart disease, strokes, diabetes…these major killers end millions of peoples lives each year.

 

Before disease sets into your body to where you become so feeble that you can’t even go to the toilet without help…pumped full of drugs just to keep you alive…take the opportunity to change your future by changing what you consume.

 

The hardest thing for someone to do is change their diet. People love fast food, Starbucks, cookies and ice cream. People these days are substituting healthy alkaline diets with a dumping ground of acidic diets and lifestyles. 

 

It’s known that people will spend more on their health in the last two years of their life than all the years of their life.
